Franco Festival Calgary takes over Prince's Island Park for a weekend celebrating the cultural richness of Calgary's large Francophone community — with performers and traditions from Africa, North America, South America and Europe all represented. Friday evening (7 p.m.) features a French-language film screening, and Saturday runs 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with the main festival: live music, dance performances, a cultural village, children's activities and food vendors.
Admission is free, and it's described as a family event with activities for all ages. Paid parking is available nearby, and the site is accessible by public transit.
