Calgary's getting its first Beaver Fest on October 17, a free afternoon at Vista Point in North Glenmore Park dedicated entirely to beavers and the wetlands they help create. Local conservation groups will be on hand to talk about beaver habitat and watershed health around the city, alongside live music and beaver-themed food and drinks.
It runs noon to 6 p.m. and is free to attend, though organizers ask that you register online ahead of time (registration includes an optional donation). There are family activities planned throughout the afternoon, so it's an easy one to bring the kids to.
